Our Philosophy

For students, our nutritional meal planning aims to educate them in how to lead a happy, safe and healthy lifestyle while contributing to a sustainable world. We want to help young people make the connection between their diet and the way they feel and perform – we strive to show them that through healthy nutritious food they can feel great and achieve more. Our guiding principles – EAT, LEARN, LIVE – capture this ambition and direct our initiatives.

For our clients, they get the best possible day-to-day service from motivated and well-trained on-site teams, as well as the support of a wide range of experts – from skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) teams to a diversified Culinary team, as well as a team of experienced nutritionists.

Innovative and Nutritious meals

Every day we strive to create the most tasty and nutritious meals to students and teachers at the schools that we serve. All our school menus are designed by our dietitian team along with our experienced culinary chefs. They are also designed by strictly adhering to the Hong Kong Nutritional guidelines set by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.

Our Chartwells team is dedicated to offering a safe canteen environment that offers healthy meals that are safe for students with food allergies to consume. All allergen icons are clearly displayed on menus and food tags, with all menus going through a Traffic Light Labelling system designed by our dietitian team. If your child has any or requires any special food requests, please contact our on-site team and we will do everything we can to accommodate from food preparation to serving and seating arrangement.

Beyond the Kitchen

At Chartwells, we aim to be so much more than being just another catering provider. We want to go way beyond that. Blending our wealth of culinary experience and our passion for improving the health and wellbeing of the young children we feed every day, our ‘Beyond the Kitchen’ programme aims to help them build a personal toolkit of knowledge, skills and inspiration – which we believe are the key ingredients for happy and healthy futures. On top of that, through engagement sessions with our culinary and nutrition team, we hope to educate kids not only on how to prepare and cook delicious meals, but also about the ingredients and foods in their meals, so that they know where the meals come from, and their impact on our bodies, communities and planet.
